Typically CAD/CAM restorations are milled from solid blocks of white Zirconium or Titanium. After the problem is removed from the diseased tooth, an image is taken of the resulting defect. This image draws the data into a computer and proprietary software is used to create a seal for the defect within the program, essentially creating a virtual restoration.
Zirconia All Ceramic combines excellent and profound strength with beautiful esthetics. The material consists of 99.5 percent pure zirconium oxide and is biocompatible, thereby ensuring excellent long-term esthetics. Zirconia All Ceramic is translucent giving the tooth a natural appearance. This ceramic is also customized but still industrially produced, ensuring predictable results. Zirconia All Ceramic is made of bio-compatible material (comparable to Titanium) which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions.
With Zirconia Crowns, you also get the benefit of translucency, giving the restoration a natural appearance.
Zirconia All Ceramic provides a metal-free esthetic option with a number of benefits. By eliminating the need for the supportive metal core, an esthetic all-ceramic crown can be created with a reduced thickness of material.
Additionally, the elimination of the metal core allows for light transmission through the porcelain for better optical, life-like properties and a higher level of esthetics.
